  • Ranked 9th among hospitals named to the 2009 Best Places to Work in Healthcare in the U.S. list by Modern Healthcare Magazine, listed 27th overall.
  • Recognized as a Thomson Reuters Top 100 Hospitals national award winner – only hospital in North Carolina to receive this prestigious recognition in 2008 and named a Thomson Reuters Top 100 performance improvement leader (one of only 16 in the US to make both lists).
  • Designated a Bariatric Center of Excellence in 2010 by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
  • Named one of the top 50 N.C. Family-Friendly Companies by Carolina Parent Magazine nine consecutive times.
  • Recognized by the Triangle Business Journal in 2010 for excellence in healthcare with four Healthcare Heroes recipients in the categories of allied health professional, nurse, physician assistant and volunteer.
  • The National Research Corporation (NRC) named Rex Healthcare a Consumer Choice Award winner in 2009.
  • Professional Research Consultants (PRC) has nationally recognized Rex Healthcare for its shining achievements in patient service and awarded Three East  the Five Star Performer Award for Best Overall Quality of Care, scoring in the top 10% of hospitals. Also awarded the Four Star Award for patient satisfaction for inpatient and outpatient surgery, making 2010 the third consecutive year of achievement.
  • The first hospital in the Triangle to be awarded Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • The first recognized Comprehensive Community Cancer Center in North Carolina and is one of a select few accredited cancer centers in the state.
  • Rated best for heart attack survival in Wake County in 2009 by Hospital Compare with the only above average rating in the Country.
  • Received national recognition for best use of broadcast for its live health education television show, Rex On Call, by PR Week in 2008.
  • Named to the Best Places to Work list by Triangle Business Journal in 2009.
  • Earned the Platinum Rule award from Triangle Business Journal for best places to work.

  • Voted Best Hospital in the Triangle by readers of the Triangle Business Journal.
  • Rex was the reader-chosen 2009 Metro Bravo Award recipient for Best Emergency Room and Best Wellness Center, Honorable Mention for Best Cardiac Center and Best Cancer Care Center, awarded by Metro Magazine.
  • Honored by having three Rex nurses named to the Great 100 Nurses list in 2009.
