When you or someone you love has experienced an accident or a severe injury and medical care is needed immediately, rest assured that Rex Healthcare’s Emergency Department (ED) can take care of you –any time, day or night.

The Rex Emergency Department is staffed with caring and experienced physicians, nurses, technicians and specialists that are specially trained to care for patients in an emergency situation.  Click here to learn more about our physicians.

With over 24,000 square feet of space the Rex ED is able to accommodate more than 60,000 patients each year. The Rex ED is also the home of the triangles first accredited chest pain center.

For those major-minor injuries, the Rex ED has a Minor Treatment area, which provides you with an evaluation, treatment, and discharge for patients with non-urgent, minor emergency needs. If you’re not sure that a trip to the Emergency Department is what you need, Rex offers urgent care centers in both Cary and Wakefield to treat minor injuries and illnesses.

Rex Emergency Services also houses the Rex Emergency Response Team, called the Rex ERT. This team of dedicated professionals can bring quality coverage to a variety of athletic and other community events.
